Ms. DiMarco invited yours truly along with the Graphics Arts instructor, Mr. Gordon, to the 2011 Neighborhood Achievement Awards Ceremony held under a big white tent on the lawn of Gracie Mansion. The jazz was soothing, and there was just enough breeze that the crowd wsa able to enthusiastically support their neighborhood heros.
It was so neat to witness a Staten Island Career Coach, receive recognition and hear mention of McKee High School as Commissioner Walsh introduced Ms. DiMarco. All of the SI Career Coaches are unique in that they walk the walk of coming into a high school and interacting with students, providing them with the ABCs of how to be employable and then evaluate and revisit ways to further engage the students.
It was also really cool to sip lemonade, and knosh on hors d'oeuvres on the lawn of Gracie Mansion. Hey, when am I ever going to say those words again. It was too - too.
